I inherited an 1885 Winchester made in the 1895-97 period. The barrel is stamped 32-20 SS. Most other original rifles I’ve seen have 32 WCF. So I am wondering if this is the original barrel or not? Thanks for your help.
You might want to check with the ASSRA site, they have a wealth of information
about older rifles and calibers. Another thing you might try is a chamber cast.
