My son's Boy Scout Troop is looking for a couple of muzzle loading cannon/crews for their 4th of July Flag Raising Ceremony. Our city gave approval for us to fire cannon, so now we're looking for Civil War or Revolutionary War re-enactment groups to help us out. We're located in West Orange County, CA. Anyone interested please e-mail me.
Thanks
George

WELCOME to the board and THANKS for the public invitation.

I'm in Southern Virginia and won't be able to make it, but I appreciate the offer!

Since this is going to be such a visible affair, I strongly suggest reviewing the safety procedures of both the American Artillery Association and the North-South Skirmish Association. They were developed to prevent unwanted explosions at the wrong time (wonder why?) and are very well thought through. Might be a good idea to pratice a bit too.

Take a quick look as well at local laws.

Again, thanks and we'd like to see some pictures of what y'all shoot!

Thanks for the welcome Cat!

So far I've had one local crew from the Ft Tejon Historical Ass. with an original 3" Ordnance Rifle volunteer. They're very seasoned. Now were looking for one more gun. I have approvals from both the city police & fire departments for the firing. I had to provide plot plans, safety procedures, etc. to get the approvals. You can't be too careful now-days.
Thanks again.
