I was looking at a Win 1894 AE, with side button safety today. 99% blue, great walnut stock, for $355. But I noticed it does not have the two small holes d/t on the left hand side of the receiver for mounting a peep sight base.

Does this mean that you can't actually drill and tap them, and mount a standard Lyman 66 peep?

Thanks for all answers.

Any gun can be drilled & tapped - That's how Bubba makes Swiss cheese.

Williams & XS make receiver peep sights that utilize the 94AE's rear scope mount holes atop the rear end of the receiver sidewalls.
