Fox news tonight Quotes the Canadian Government as saying "even if we caught Sadam we would'nt hand him over to the U.S. I have a 13,000 dollar U.S., hunt booked in B.C. and am begining to think I may take my U.S. dollars to Alaska instead.

Don't know about the quote, but I know our Gov't. You'd probably get him, but through extradition proceedings just like any other criminal. Assuming that is, that the dumb farts in Ottawa don't consider him to have diplomatic immunity to such.
If you do cancel, make sure that it does some good. Cancelling the hunt will not help change Government policy, making sure the news media knows that dollars are being lost because of it may have an effect.
I hope you get your hunt, and your outfitters and guides get their money.
It's very likely not their fault we have Liberals in power. City folk outnumber us, and they are born Liberal.

Which one of our political moron's said that? Our government does not necessarily represent the views of the people and they don't have to until election time. I think you'd find I similiar ratio of people pro and against American actions in Canada as you would in the U.S.

I'm embarassed at our governments lack of support for the American action and at the pitiful state our military. I am proud that the small military we do have is very professional and is commited and very active fighting the war on terrorism.

Canada and Alaska are both great place to hunt but please do not let those mouth pieces in Ottawa alter your choice or shatter your opinion of Canadians in general.

I agree, to not hunt/fish in Canada only adds fuel to the Liberal Gov. who doesnt want you there anyway. You might do better to write some of the advertisers that back some of our U.S Hollywood stars who belittle everything that gives them the freedom to be jerks. A big part of what the Arabs hate about Americans is that they think we are all like the JazzBag movie stars that thrive on immorality etc... Lets not take out our frustrations out on our Canadian brothers who really do give a rip about conservative views in the world. A bunch of boneheads dont make a whole country bad.

I agree with the sentiment that the Government of Canada does not reflect the voice of the people, espeacialy in western Canada. I had a conversation with my outfitter about this when the US national anthem was booed before a NHL game, in I believe Montreal, and his sentiment was on line with the answers you guys have given. In the past weeks I have been recieving calls from outfitters in Canada offering hunts for both this spring and this fall that are cancellations in part due to the war and the stance of the Canadian government. I have hunted and fished and traveled into Canada often through the years and to be very honest I never even thought of the fact that I was entering a foreign country.

I'm glad you feel that way, and I wish I could say the same when I went south. Unfortunately, a few Liberal morons run our Country, and they are making it hard for the people who care. Canadians are now regarded as forieners when they go to the US. I understand why, and I'm trying to change the government. Can one person change the world? Maybe, but changing the Canadian government by peacefull means is proving to be a challenge.

cancelled hunts

well, for every hunter like zoo who speaks his mind, I'm sure there are 20 more who don't say anything and just cancel their hunts. I drive a semi every night from winnipeg, mb down to fargo, nd and I've seen a large drop in the amount of freight going into the u.s. Peak of the market, which ships thousands of pounds of produce to the u.s. each day, says orders are being cancelled, or "posponed" indefinitly ( kinda like the president's visit to ottawa!). Several other companies are having to slow production or layoff staff because of cancelled orders. Mr. Paul Celluci the u.s. ambassador to canada said it best; "The president's time would be spent more usefully visiting a coalition country." I think everyone on this board would do everything in our power to convince you to keep your hunt, but if you chose to cancel it, no one could blame you. If you do cancel, please do us a favour. Take a few minutes to draft up a short letter to the prime minister and tell him what you've done. They won't listen to us; maybe they'll listen to you.

Listen Fellas, I would hate to see this thing cause any permanent rift between our countries and our people. I am from central Wisconsin and feel very close to the Canadian people, I have driven all over Canada, from Newfoundland to the Yukon and can tell you, you are very blessed with the beauty and abundance of your country. I think we should all be very proud of the way we have lived in peace and friendship on each others doorstep, and the rest of the world would be wise to take notice. I look foreward to hunting in Canada, for one thing you have things to offer we can't get in Wisconsin or even in the western states, the other reason is the adventure and the people. Be safe and good luck.

Enjoy your hunt. But, please write a letter to a Canadian Newspaper anyway.
The Ottawa Citizen for the politicians, the Globe and Mail, National Post, The Toronto Sun (Sun Media) for the rest of us.
