With rare exceptions, they're ready to go. The exceptions are usually special order items for people with special applications. Your best bet is to use a local caster's products if you have a local guy. Otherwise you pay a lot for shipping. It's still a lot cheaper than jacketed bullets, though, and there's a lot less wear on the barrel too.
