I got my Cody Woodsman glass call in the mail yesterday following the advice of VM. I was surprised I had to dress it with the stone provided before I could get it to work, but after that it worked quite well. Is it necessary to carry the dressing stone into the field with you or does one sesession with it last a while?

Can't wait to try it out on some birds.

Hi Jack i have the Cody 2 calls and all i use on them is the green sos pad i have never use a stone on mine just the green pad the Woodman's is the New call they have out hoping to get one for my birthday lol :grin: how does it sound does it work good does it sound any better than your other slate calls let me know how it works i have never used the Woodman's call before VM

Sounds great.

To me that is, one thing I've learned is that what sounds like a turkey to me doesn't necessarily sound like a turkey to a turkey. For instance I think I make much better sounding calls with a mouth call but I've called up the most turkeys with a box call.

Like you say, it doesn't seem to have any sweet spots like the slate call does. Much easier to do what I want with it.

There was some admonisment on the package about only using a particular type of abrasive to dress it ( silicon oxide sandpaper? ). Any way they said if you use something else you might polish rather than cut the glass.

Hi Jack i am glad u like it and the turkeys will too i like the call because it is easy to work and i dont have the sweet spots also Jack if u can get u a MAD purple heart striker it sounds good when used on that call and when u have the cody and purple heart strikers u have 2 diff sounds like 2 hens good luck with your new call VM

Hi Jack i have all the strikers Codys has made they make a carbon one for the rain and i have 2 Mad ones i use and others i carry about 10 or 12 strikers in my Turkey vest if i have use a striker in a place i will use a diff one when i go back to sound like a diff hen so the tom dont get use to the same sound just like the box calls i am looking for a custom box call now to add to my turkey sounds talk to u later VM
