i just bought some new 110 conibears and you have to push the trigger to far for it to go off how can i fix them so they go off faster

on the dog where the three little notches are at...i think they are two deep...i thought maybe i could just file them down a little....someone gave me some old conibears and they go off as soon as you touch the trigger...but the new ones you have to push the trigger almost all the way up..
I'm not going to tell you how cause I aint sure , but , I do know you need to file the dog . Someone here does know cause I saw a post on how it is done but forgot .
no i think that they should be shallower so that when the trigger is touch it doesent have to move as far to set the trap off...i could be wrong
