A really nice Model 12 Trap was given to me recently but I really have no use for it. Curious if it's possible to cut the Ribbed BBL down to 28" and bore the barrel to a choke where I can shoot upland birds ? Thanks Steve

Of course that would be possible but for God's sake DON'T... that is a very nice shotgun. If you wish a field gun it would be MUCH wiser to sell the M12 trapgun and just buy a field gun... If just keeping the guns is a priority, perhaps a local smith could find and fit a M12 front end and install choke tubes. These can often be found at gunshows and even occasionally the auction sites and will preserve a nice old M12.. I assume of course the gun is original,, if not you would most likely still want to keep it as is... If it is stocked to normal trap dimensions (long-straight) it will not prove a very satisfactory field gun in any case.. Better to keep the old sweetheart as is and go find a good used 870. Usually only a bit over $200 at local gunshows.. Good luck from the gunnut69

Yeah, I probably won't do it. I'm just not the collector type and don't like guns sitting around that I don't shoot..don't want to sell it either. Life is just full of tough decisions...

Just see if you can find another barrel for it with the trap stock it will be great on a covy rise forcing the gun to shoot high with the trap stock it will swing great. :D JIM
