Does anyone know of any internet sites where you can download predator calls. I'd like to find some crow and distress sounds to download to my hard drive and then to my CD burner. Thanks in advance....

I ask that same question on Predator Masters. Didnt get but one reply. Same one here--findsounds.com. A few days later someone else asked the same question. The moderator closed the post and got mean with him. Seems he was worried about getting sued for copyrite infringement.
Where you at in TN? I'm in Sewanee.

hey hound dog that was me on the predator masters board that got my thread locked for suggesting that we might share sounds on kazaa. I guess their a little touchy about that. Anyway I post sounds on kazaa under the the name tony t in the artist category so if you search by artist you'll find some. There are also some others that do it. hope this helps.

sounds

Hounddog I am from outside of Nashville myself I recently bought a couple of predator CD's from the fish store here in Nashville. Was going to burn them into smaller length tracks (they are 20 min each) but my puter would not read them. I will try them again later if it works I'll let you know. Chad

Download Goldwave from the web at www.goldwave.com. It is a sound editing program that will import your tracks from your cd and you can edit to your hearts content. You can also record your hand calls with it to play on your e caller.

download call sounds

I have Musuc Match Jukebox and other programs so I can do all of the editing and stuff that I want. I just have to figure out how to get it to play. I am sure it is only a matter of settings.

Gentlemen,

Getting sued for copywrite infringement is no joke! Please take it seriously and think before you post. Too bad the moderator choose to get nasty about it at PM though. That won't happen here, we are all friends for crying out loud. But posting anything in this forum along these lines that could lead to difficulties for GBO, and specifically Bill and Matt, will be "handled" by me as this forums moderator. I promise to do it politely.

Thanks for understanding pards.

Ladobe, head is given to your warning by myself at least. However if I might ask. If these are to be used only for personal use and not for public dissemination or could there still be a problem. Not asking for legal advice just trying to prevent any problems for the board. It would be awful to lose a GREAT site like this. Chad

Chad -

I'm no lawyer (can't slither low enough) so I really can't get "legal" either - can only offer what sounds logical and reasonable to me. My take on your question... as far as I know, copying a companies copywrited sounds for your own personal use, but from "purchased" records/tapes/CD's that you yourself own would not be an infingement. Copying those sounds to give or sell to someone else would be. I also would think copying them on a computer or server and then passing along the URL to it for puiblic access and download would also be an infringement.

All I am asking of all of you here is please don't link here to any bootleg copywrited sounds, or offer someone copies of any records/tapes/CD's, etc. here on the GBO Forums. What you all do amonst yourselves off GBO is your business, and becomes your responsibility instead of the board Admin's.

Thanks again for your concern and help in keeping GBO alive and well.

Downloaded calls

I absolutely agree if anything I said came across that way it was not meant to. I am only trying to shorten some of the call times. I usually only call for 2-3 minutes then sit for 3-5 and watch. Maybe someone else has better success calling for longer I would love to hear from them if the do.

I live in Wyoming and the areas I call are wide open spaces. I usually let my caller run nonstop for 20 to 25 minutes. I have seen coyotes on a dead run from so far out that it took them 10 minutes to get in range to shoot. I usually hold off till they are <100 yards. The sound carries out here for miles so if you don't stay after it a good while you may never see a dog. As for the downloadable sounds, I have a couple of Johnny Stewart CD's I downloaded to my computer and I copy them to blanks so I don't have to take out the originals to the field. You might check Johnny Stewart's site if you can find it.
