I know that with larger case cartridges, a drop tube helps to settle the powder, allowing not only more powder, but more consistancy. Is there any advantage to using a drop tube with small pistol ctg.?

Nope! Yer right, in rifle cartridges they help a lot in getting more powder in the cases and in creating a more consistant burn rate for accuracy. But in pistol volume cases they really don't seem to have much, if any, advantage.

So I can just dip when using my progressive press or get the BP powder measure and then it's business as usual?
