I got my son a G2 for his 10th birthday. He does extremely well with the rifle from the bench, however I know we'll be working on squirrels in no time. I think for him the stock will be a bit long. My plan is to cut the stock down to just behind the rear sling swivel. Then, I want to try making a wooden plug to fit the hollow composite stock and epoxy that in place. That'll give me plenty of area to work with to mount another recoil pad that I'll have to grind to fit. Another idea that I saw for recoil pads when I was at my local range was a standard "flip-flop". The guy bought a pair of flip-flops and had plenty of recoil absorbing material to cut from.

When I end up making my shortened stock I'll be sure to post a topic of the processs.
