New to forum and to TC Encore. I have purchased a TC with a factory .223 and it shoots great. I purchased a .257 from custom shop and then later an aftermarket barrel. My problem is when shooting the custom shop barrel and the after market barrel the action will not open. I have to remove the forearm and depress the end of the extractor to open the action. I have searched this forum but find no others with this issue. I have a call in to TC but have not been contacted back by TC. Love the gun and think it is some minor issue but have not found solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The locking lugs on your new barrels does not fit that frame. You can do one of three things. (1) call T/C and get another set of locking lugs and install them. (2) send your barrels and frame to T/C for them to fix. (3) Blacken your locking lugs and polish them to fit with a stone. Best of luck. Twyman

If I had the problem and did not had a friend to help me. I would order three sets of locking bolts( T/C makes them in several increments 1x,2x, and 3x). Generally barrels are shipped with 1x size, but you don't know what you have for sure. Also, do a webb search for locking bolt sizing. The webb has a better description than I could give using an inked felt tip pen blacken the locking bolt and using a diamond EZE Lap to work down the locking bolt to fit. Don,t use a dremel tool to remove the lug metal. Care must be taken to keep the top surfaces of the locking bolts flat and at the same angle as original. Best that I can do under present rules. The way that I have seen this problem solved is Ed changed the locking bolts until he found a set that worked.
