My wife has a fairly new Encore in 243. Although I’m not done working up loads for it, so far I’m very pleased with it’s and she loves it. After I test loads with it I give her the rifle and the extra loads I don’t use. She banged a 24” gong at 300 meters from a setting position with an average of a little better than 50% for 15 rounds. Not bad for a girl shooting in a pretty steady 5-7 mph crossing wind (I own a windmeter). She’s was hot with it at 200 meters on a 16” gong (9 of 10 shots) the last time we were out 3 weeks ago. She’s had 3 shooting sessions with it so far, I think by next antelope season she’s going to be death with it.

I have yet to own a 243 barrel, but I either have or have had a 308, 25-06, 223, 22-250 and a 260 Rem. All, with the possible exception of the 26-06 (the jury is still out) are capable of sub MOA accuracy right out of the bow. Come to think of it, I have shot .5 groups with all but the 25-06. For deer, the 260 is my favorite.

The factory trigger is a little heavy, but you can download a free instuction CD from Mike Bellm and a trigger spring from him costs under $10,... $8, I think. I've done a couple and after the first, it's fairly simple. My triggers are set at about 1lb.

My experience with TC has been positive. I've had the need to contact them a few times and always got what I needed with no hassle. You might read this forum and the TC Handgun for some differing opinions, but I think overall, we're satisfied.
