Trust all of you will enjoy, this winter, what you were able to put up from summer. The winters are long up here and what we've canned and froze is a bright spot in the cold north winters.

i didn't really make enough to can,
but thoroughly enjoyed the fresh
vegetables i had, and had enough
to share a few. used a few of the
season's last peppers to make up
some throw together spaghetti.
i might end up with a few more
maters if it doesn't get any colder
anytime soon.

I have kept and eaten butternut squash as long as 14 months. Stem on, without blemish, cured on a grate off the ground for several weeks in the shade, then washed or dipped In a bleach and water solution, then air dried and stored in milk crates. Not sure how much bleach, I just pour some out into a bucket of water. POWDERMAN. ;D ;D
