I did Saturday. Its been sunny for just over a week now, and I finally got some water time this weekend. Went Saturday to shake my rig down and check my rods. Getting ready for tournament season. Anyhow, I was checking my spinnerbait rig out. Giving it a good workout with a Stan Sloan double willow. Really hammering away at a brush pile and burning the bait back to the boat. The intention was to go through my rods and check each one out to see if they were ready and how they were performing as well as get a little castin practice in to knock the rust off my arm. What happened? Don't know by a largemouth finally clobbered the bait.

Skipper,

One comes to mind. A few years ago I was in the process of undoing a "birds nest"(which we all know never happens to experienced baitcast users[/color]) and the spinner was just laying on the bottom of the lake while I was playing sailor undoing knots when a bass picked up my spinner and tried to steal it. Hand over handing 17 lb. mono when the bass weights almost six pounds has a tendency to cut your fingers. Lawdog

I was working at the Wildlife Refuge once installing Wood duck boxes, and sitting in the front of a jonboat sculling it to the next pole when a small bass just leaped into the boat.
Honest, it's the truth!

I had a smallmouth try that once, but the blacklight it aimed for blocked his entry to the boat :)

accidental catch

Many years ago when I first learned about the "Texas" rig, I had a tap, tap and just as I was getting ready to set the hook, a spoonbilled catfish that weighed about 6 or 7 lbs jumped right into my lap! I had to go change my diaper. :) :)

Yep

I was hung up in a tree (very uncommon lol) and I finally snatched it out. I was mad, and reeled the fastest I could when the lure hit the water behind me and bam, a nice largemouth. couldnt believe it!

Last year I was using a manns crankbait baby 1 in crawdad brown I'm fishing from shore with a 10' drop off in front of me. I stopped reeling right at the waters edge for a second before taking it out of the water and bamm a 5lb salmon tried to rip it off my line boy these fish have ugly mouths with baby sized square teeth. I had no net and was all alone I just let the line go slack and let him go free to catch again but it was a state record. And just yesterday I was out casting for the second time this year Its still cold yet here and was trying my reels out with new line to break them in. I love using the BassProShops topnocker it is an awesome lure and like skipper said that baits can be used in many ways. I like to cast it out and pop it by using short 3" pops with the rod tip it like stays in the same spot and rattles/knocks away then I hold the rod tio down and reel quickly and it stays just under the surface and like walks the dog under the water. This must make one **** of a racket under the water and it must drive bass and pickerel nuts. Yesterday I did this and missed a 28"+ pickerel all i seen was the sweep/arc of his body behind my lure it was a big fish. I never expected it to make a pass as i jerked the topnocker away from him at the same time. BigBill
