I'm still scratching my head over rifles with them!? ??? Are they used so one has more leverage to extract really hot handloads? When you can't find a gun case or scabbard to carry it in, do you just throw in behind the back seat? ;D ;)

Well I ordered the bolt on instead of the threaded version. I did so mostly because its reversible... not sure I am gonna like it and I cant seem to garner any useful responses on a couple boards. :-[

I also bought a bolt for my RARR apparently these are just a removable bolt and handle so also reversible.

Pics to follow if anyone is interested.

I tried to look at one online. But all I saw were threaded knobs or stuff for Savage.

the ones i've seen local made me think of that.

all that said, the two best shooters of bolt rifles i personally know use
a factory configured bolt. they both do use custom barrels and modified actions
