Any New Englanders hunting fall turkeys? I'm in central NH, we have a short 5 day shotgun season along with our fall bow season. I took yesterday off from work and scored a 16 1/2 lb. jake in the rain. This was my first year ever tagging out both spring and fall. I usually fill on tag or the other but never both until now.

Congrats!

I was blessed with a bird this fall too. Did not get one this spring but that's ok.
NY cut our season from 30 days to 2 weeks and limit from 2 birds to one in the fall this year.
I don't know why. I had more turkeys within shotgun range opening morning than I have ever seen before!

That makes no sense, I saw more turkeys this past summer and fall than ever before. The population seems to be doing very well. Maine went from one spring tag to two tags in most areas. That's odd that NY is going in the opposite direction.
