Just a friendly poke in the ribs, dude.

Ain't no harm in asking. :D

Personally, I think that I'd try puttin' a big hook in Mr. Howie's behind.

It just ain't right fer a fella to have to do that much work by hisself...

The only problem the farmers here in the PRC have with hogs is getting enough suckers like me to pony up $500 to hunt the stink'n little critters!!

Hey Hunter !

I'm in north Ft. Worth just recently moved from SE Arizona. Where in Texas did you find public land you can hunt on ? I sure do miss the Arizona desert and national forest areas you can hunt without having to get permission. Sure would like to find something like that in TX. Also anxious to try them hogs. I'm partial to p dogs and squirrels so hogs would be quite a step up. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hog huntin in Texas

Hi guys,
I hope you don't mind my cuttin in, but I just couldn't help it!
I live in San Antonio and go to the Gun Shows as much as I can.
At every show, theres a fella sitting in the hall with a small TV/VCR. It's playing a VHS tape of lots and lots of hogs. I asked where, when and how much. He says he has 2 and 3 man blinds with bunks in'em. He charges 150.00 for one man, 125.00 each if two go and I think it goes down from there. I asked about kill fees and taking kids out (I have a 10 year old left at home) and he said "Heck, shoot as many as you want and bting your youngster out too." I asked how much for him and he said there was no charge and that he could shoot some too...

I'm going to try to get out in the next few weeks if I can.
He gave me a video and a map to his place. At any given time, there were 20-30 hogs out in the fields!

I'm gonna try out a few new toys and bring home the bacon too!

I'm originally from Colorado. We don't have many hogs there (Never seen one!)

Thanks for letting me blab at this hour.

God Bless,
Doc S

No, I don't bow hunt. I just sold my archery equipment.
As for a website, he doesn't have one, but I can post a map and telephone number for you guys.

Hi Guy's,

I'm sorry, I meant to post this a few days ago!

The man's name is Glenn Gembler of the Diamond G Farm & Ranch.
His phone number is (Office) 830) 569-5467 (Cell) (830) 520-5800.
His address is 990 CR 419 McCoy, Tx. 78113.

The ranch is located about 30 minutes south of San Antonio.
He has blinds set up with bunk beds in them so if you want to catch a few winks, you can.
He say's to get there just before dark and hunt through-out the night.
Just outside of the blind (which is more like a small apartment) is a hog cleaning station, complete with a hoist and gut bucket.

With the amount of hogs I saw on the video (taped earlier in the week), there should be no problem shooting a few hogs.

When I asked about the hunter success rate, he said, "If you don't shoot one, it's because you didn't want to, not because they're not there".

That's where I'm planning on taking my Son for his 1st hunt next month.

Good Luck and God Bless,
Doc S
