My father-in-law got a crossbow for his birthday awhile back and is having trouble finding bolts for it. It is a PSE Viper Copperhead crossbow and I believe my mother-in-law got it for him from WalMart. It calls for 17in bolts and apparenty he cant get them from his local WalMart and the only other sporting goods store in his area (Union City TN) has been giving him the run around for months telling them they have them on order but they never come in. I dont know a thing about crossbows or bolts so if any of you all can tell me what he needs and give me a phone number to a place where he can order them I would greatly appreciate it. I dont think they have internet access so he would need to call them and would not be able to order online. Thanks!

Sighted one of those xbows in for a friend recently, he had 20" 1/2 moon nocks from Wal-mart, worked fine.

Yea 20 inch should work fine. Lots of guys who shoot crossbows that take 20 inch shoot 22 inch so the three extra inches should not be an issue. In fact the heavier arrow will be more stable.

Thanks guys for the replies. I'm going to have the wife relay the info to him. Being able to pick them up from WalMart should make things real convenient for him too.

I'll probably be back on this forum asking questions soon. I have missed 2 bow seasons in a row now due to shoulder injuries and still need to go back to the doctor to find out why my latest injury is not healing on its own. I've made up my mind that if it comes down to it, I'm gonna get an Excaliber but not sure on which model and such. I think the nearest dealer here in Missouri is up in St. Louis so I will probably have to order one online. I'm sure I could have gotten a temporariy permit to use one these last 2 years but I cant afford to buy one unless it is a permanent thing. Guess I'll find out soon enough. Thanks again fellas!

Yup those wally world Horton or Carbon Express arrows with the half moon will do plenty good. I hunt with a Vixen and use my Phoenix fer 3-D's cause it be so fast,

I have the same bow. In the box I got four bolts that were 17" long and were marked 2216 on the side. I was looking for bolts in Dicks and Bass Pro - nada, nothing.

Then I tried eBay. First time I went looking, I found 15 bolts (that were 17' and marked 2216) and got them for $45, making them 3 buck each. They are the exact same ones that came in the box with the bow.

So, I'd try eBay if I were you. Sometimes, you can get a deal.
