:?: Is a 10" 30 Herret and a 12" 45-70 barrel a good deal in trade for a 12 year old tc frame. I might trade this frame for the two barrels if it seems to be a good deal. Thanks in advavce.
Personally, I would never trade a frame for barrels. In my opinion, frames are worth much more than barrels...Even a couple of barrels. Might be a legal aspect to it also??...BCB
Unless you just have a real burning need for those two barrels I'd sure not consider it a good deal for you. Herrett's seldom go for over about $125 and the 12" .45-70 would be a real serious kicker. If you really want one or the other I'd just buy it. If you really want to get rid of the frame then sell it and I think you'd come out better.
I have an other TC but can't afford extra barrels right now. This trade will be between my brother-in-law and me he wants to get into TCs and I want other barrels.
Read the above comments and then do what you think. I hope your borther in law is not only a relative but also a friend. If you are close than I would do what you think is best.
Lostchild, I meant to be responding to your thread, but somehow ended up starting a new one. See my answer to your question in the more recent thread (well, after posting this response, my inadvertent new thread will actually be older than this one... :? ) on this forum, titled "Frame for Barrels Trade?" Sorry for any confusion. Gary T.
