I had a barrel not want to open when I put it on a frame. Through a little searching I found that I needed to remove the trigger group. I broke out my exploded view diagram in my owner's manual and started taking things apart. I got the trigger group out and the barrel came free.

I reassembled everything, but can not figure out how to get the hammer and hammer spring back together in the frame. Anybody have any tricks on getting it back together?

Hammer and Spring

I called T/C and was told I didn't need to remove the hammer and spring to be able to remove the barrel. Now I know.

They said I would need a real short pin to keep the hammer and spring together as I slid it in the frame. Unfortunately they wouldn't sell me one. Anybody have any idea where I can get a real small pin to put this all back together?

Hammer & spring installation on a Conte

I made a slave pin out of the tip of a brass punch the correct size. A correct dia. nail would also work. Cut it so it is a hair shorter than the width of the hammer. I took a file and rounded off the edges of the slave pin.

After you have the pin made, assemble the spring and hammer together. Install into the frame and line up the hole. Drive the frame pin into, pushing out the slave pin. You will have to hold the hammer in just the right point to get everything to line up.

The hammer spring goes one way. If you install the hammer and it feels easier to pull back then before, you have the spring upside down.
