After watching a fork chase a doe around 225 yrds. and never offering a clean shot, this guy presented himself at about 125 yrds. A handload, 200 gr. Hornady Round Nose, in .35 Whelen put the hurt on him!
Indiana does not allow anything smaller than .357 cal. and case length no longer than 1.8 inches in a rifle. Now if have pistol in 35 Whelen that's legal... Go figure.
I have several rifles that sit in the safe and softly whimper from not being chosen to go out opening morning.
Either way nice deer and I did not mean to steer the thead astray.
