Unique is great in large capacity cases-it's not temp sensitive like many powders are today.
I would like to hear how my load works out for you.
Just be sure to use a FIRM crimp to help with the 'burn'.

Thanks, LG. Do you suggest a FILL material to hold Unique over flash hole?

On crimp, am using full length RCBS 454 die set for good bullet/neck tension plus Roll crimp too. But also have a Lee Factory Crimp die, do you think needed?

Plus have a Dillon 45 colt Taper Crimp but dont remember if it finishes with a Roll Crimp, thinking it may not, but it looks nice, ha!

May first try 255g medium-hard cast, should seal good. But have thin plated 260g in stock too, dont want to over Crimp these particular plated bullets. Will keep your bullet link suggestion in my log though, for sure.

Boy, I wish. Here it is mid-Nov already. Still have at least a few months of hunting season, any available time must go toward that.

Am looking forward to your load suggestions though.

Meanwhile, since no time for handloading and testing except for Big Game loads only, have been thinking about a 45 acp cylinder for plinking during these Fall months, this has been on my mind recently.

Always open to feedback or experience on new 45acp cylinder too, in my m83?

I have a round butt on my Model 97 5 1/2 .357. I have smallish hands and the round butt lets me get a better purchase on the gun.

Sounds really functional yet bet it looks really 'good' in that profile. A fun shooter in that caliber....

Lumpy Grits,

Finally! Had some warmer weather and made great progress with your Unique load. Appreciate it. Saw a huge improvement over my old Herco loads! Using Lyman 255g cast .452 with 8.9 grains. Between 9 & 10 grains would not work quite as well, with my set up and seating depth anyway.

Think this load will do even better in the 4.75 inch with a 'softer' bullet and better bore seal. Did not try 7.5 inch yet.

Also, 14.1 grains resulted in less lead fouling with my particular bullet but that isnt a light plinking load although comfortable to shoot, also was accurate.

Will check out your bullet recommendation next. Thanks again.

Also, on next bullet, think will go with .451 tho these bullets did chamber. They may be sized smaller than thought, need to recheck.
