Hello. about 8 years ago or so I read a magazine article about loading 300gr hornaday bullets for 44 magnum pistol that said if you can use the rear crimping groove and the round will fit in your cylinder that you can increase the powder charge because you will generate less pressure with that seating depth. Do any of you load your 300gr 44mag ammo this way?
I lost that article and would like to get some load data for this. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Yes I do load them that way and have gone as high as 22.5 grains of H110 or W296 when using the rear cannelure for longer overall length. With the front cannelure and shorter length I never exceed 20.5 grains of same powders.
