Well after much deliberation and research on the web I bought a 22 mag Henry Lever action. Not the golden boy, the regular one. I normally use peep sights on lever guns but as long as this one has a built in scope grooves in the reciever I put a 3x12 Tasco on it to try it out will shoot it tomorrow and see what it does. It has a smooth action and the wood to metal fit and wood finish is great. Tha walnut is average not a lot of figure but not plain either just looks like the average Winchester stock of the old days. I like Henrys finish not glossy looks like rubbed oil. A lot of guys on the web likes their's and some of the detractors of the Henry said they will not hold up like a Winchester, Browning or Marlin Lever but then my Winchester 94 was made in 64 and is still shooting and is origional down to the cast shell lifter in it and it is still shooting strong and they said in 64 that they were junk compared to the older ones so I guess I will just have to see how long this Henry last. If it shoots good and is trouble free that is all I care about. Jim
