The only thing dumber than the 300 grain .45-70 loading is a 250 grain loading.

Swampman likes the Remmy 405 gr load .......it's his magic bullet for the 4570.

Tim, think that is the same bullet used in the 450 Bushmaster? It shouldn't be as that is a .452 dia. bullet. DP

I don't think they'd use a .452" bullet in the 45-70, they don't list it in the FTX bullets yet either.

Did ya ever shoot those 525gr Piledrivers I sent ya? I have some 720gr Ranger Rick's for you to try next, you too Pete after you start reloading, you want big, these are the BIG!!! ;D

I'm still trying to figure out why we needed flex-tips to begin with. At pistol (and the good Handi Rifle) cartridge ranges they just don't offer anything.

It would be interesting to see how flat and accurate that 250gr bullet would shoot pushed with a max load... Think it would stabilize?

It has the BC of a round ball. It'll shed velocity like a new waxed car does rain. The same thing goes for the 300 grainers.
