Did the Herter's Super Single Six have adjustable sights? Was it a quality made firearm? I think they were made by JP Sauer which later became Sig Sauer.
Herter's Single Action centerfire revolvers in .357 Rem. Mag., 401 Herter's PowerMag and .44 Rem. Mag. built by J.P.Sauer did indeed have adjustable sights. They were rugged, very well made and very accurate revolvers that still show up periodically for sale.
I had one in .44 Magnum which I bought in 1966. It was a good gun, had the adjustable sights and an oversized (i.e. longer) grip. Kinda wish i still had it....
I have often wondered what the recoil of the .44 Mag. would be like. Now that arthritis has set into my hands and wrists I don't wonder so much anymore. Did you buy via the mail order or did you pick it up in Waseca?
