Are we talking about the desert Eagle semi auto 44 mag? If that is the gun you are talking about then thinnk about this. It is large, heavy, has a hugh grip and costs alot of money. Forget it, go with the Taurus RB, it is a fine revolver and will be pleasant to shoot, great grips too.

Raging Bull 44 mag VS Desert Eagle 44 mag

I had it in my mind for a long spell, I WANTED one of them Desert Eagles, if nothin else, I liked the sound of it. Then one day I chanced upon a brandt new one in a gunshop and got to foostering with it. I think it's just about the perfect size....for the Jolloy Green Giant!

I'm considered the American average in size, and I'll tell ya square, that sucker is way to big for me.

I have a RB in 454 Casull, bought it on GB's reccomendation. I'll say it straight up, I don't believe there is another 454 on the planet that shoots as comfortable as that baby does. And it's as accurate as the FA guns.

It's loose as a goose, the rear sight wiggles, and it sure ain't no Freedom Arms. ****, it ain't even as tight as a Smith & Wesson. But it shoots and is easy to shoot, and for the money, it's a good buy IMO.

Me, I'd take the Taurus over the DE anyday of the week

Raging Bull

Forget the .44 mag. It's anything but a magnum. The real deal is the
Raging Bull in .454. That's some gun, I got one in blue, liked it so much
I 'dopted it a brother in stainless. I also own the Desert Eagle in .50 AE,
Shot a hog at close range with it and had to be rescued by a friend wielding a .454 Raging Bull. Shot it right in the boiler room with the .50 at spittin' range and the pig didn't even slow down. Whilst I was doin' some fancy dodgin' the .454 put the fight to rest like right now.

I agree to some extent. The 44 mag has been around for years, and has killed more than its fair share of pigs. No one can deny ithe 44's abilities.

On the other hand, the 454 just flat out stomps 'em. It's not that the 44 is useless, it's just that the 454 is much more powerful and able than the 44, and no one can deny that either.

Of course, as you alluded to earlier, accuracy and shot placement is more important than deciding the merits of the 44 versus the 454.

Raging Bull 44 mag VS Desert Eagle 44 mag

The problem with the DE's is that in the one i have shot, and heard of many similiar incidents, is that the brass has a nasty habit of coming back and hitting you in the head. On my friend's .50 AE, this happens almost every round, rather unpleasant to say the least. If you want something more than a .44 mag, but less than .454, i would recommend a .445 supermag, don't get me wrong it's a handfull. My personal handloads are a 240 grain XTP doing about 2000 fps out of a ten inch T/C contender. man it's sweet.

JUST DONT HUNT RABBITS WITH IT!!! it makes an incredible mess!
