We were in Myrtle Beach,SC and I went in a Dick's Sporting Goods to look around.Back in the firearm department a gentleman was buying three Rossi combo guns.He had three children who deer hunted with him and this was what they wanted for Christmas.
I wandered over and we were talking while the clerk did the background check and I had a chance to look at the combo. This has a green synthetic stock with a removeable cheek piece on the top of the butt stock. The barrels are .22Rimfire,20Gauge and .243WIN.After looking at it I decided that one of these was going home with me which it did.
I was really pumped about this and still am but have had some of the wind let out of my sails by some of the posts I've seen on here about the lack of accuracy in the .243.I'll reserve opinion and retain most of my enthusiasm until I have mounted a decent scope and test fired it myself.

Can't wait till hear your range result. Not to hijack the post. I haven't been to Myrtle Beach in a long time, I spend more up around Pickens county. When did they get a Dick's Sporting Goods?

Merry Christmas

My nephew got one last year for Christmas and he loves it. We all took it out to the farm and shot all three barrels out of it.
His father stole it one morning to go deer hunting while the poor kid slept in.

Ill look for it next time I am down there. I have had good luck with rossi pistols but that was about 25 years ago when everything was quality from them. Now its gone down hill big time.

I bought one about a year ago. The 243 barrel shot about a 12" group at 100 yards, 3 kinds of ammo and 3 scopes. Sent it back to the factory 8 months later they gave me a new barrel and great test target. I would sell it for dealer cost if anyone wants it.

Sounds like they just like 12inch groups. Sounds like it is the standard for rossi. I ain't buying one.

I bought one a few years back, and had nothing but problems with it. HUGE groups, action opening when fired, etc. I have a post about it somewhere on here. I finally gave up on it, before it hurt me or someone else. I don't know why I keep checking the post in the Rossi forum, but when I do, most are still bad. A few have had luck with theirs, and I wish them continued sucess. Seems to be the exception, though.

I bought my Rossi single shot in 357 magnum several years ago and I have been as happy as can be, the only thing needing attention being the lousy factory sights which I replaced right away. I also recently had the barrel shortened from 23" to 16.25" and also removed the black paint from the stock and stained and oil the wood making her into a new gun much more handy in size for a truck/brush/boat gun which I intended it to be in the first place.

Some good looking wood under that black paint.

What caliber is your Rossi? And what is dealer price to you? Its been different everywhere I've been. Usually around $250, which according to the reports may be overpriced for what it fails to offer. Was it worth it for you?

I had a Rossi 308 and it was a shooter. Shot MOA or better if I did my part with Rem core lokt 150gr, But the recoil was absolutely brutal. I also have one of the nickle plated 357 mag carbines and wouldn't get rid of it for the world. I have a Simmons pro diamond 4X32 on it and it will consistantly shoot 1.5" at 100 yards with the hornady LE ammo. Quite a few deer have fallen to this great little brush gun.
