Hello;

Yesterday I was in a local pawn shop perusing the wares when I saw the clerk take a beautiful Pedersoli Rollling Block out of pawn and prepare it for the showroom floor.

It appeared to have a 28 or 30 inch octagonal barrel in .45-70, beautiful wood, and a long vernier tang sight with a globe front sight. In a little jewelry box with the gun were the front globe site inserts. The set appeared to be complete (there were a bunch, but I didn't count). The metal and bore appeared perfect. The barrel is blue and the receiver case hardened. It had been fired, but maybe just the proof rounds at the proof house in Italy. The stock was also perfect, except for a little ding that didn't break the finish on the wood where the tang sight rotated backward and the eye piece touched the stock.

Asking price was $650.00, firm. What do you guys think?

Also on the rack was another Pedersoli, in similar but not as nice condition, mostly due to the fact that the wood wasn't as nice as the first. This one had a half round and half octagonal heavy barrel in .45-70 and original blade front sight and rear sight, but also had a short tang site, perhaps 2 inches high. Price is also $650, firm. How does this one stack up?

Thanks,

-John C

JHM;

Each of these rifles has single triggers. It doesn't seem likely that an owner replaced the double with single triggers, does it? Does that change the value on these guns?

Thanks again,
