my favorite 300+ grain loads are 20 grains of 110 or 18 grains of 2400 both with a cci 350 primer.

I use the LBT 300gr LFN mould which produces 315 grain bullets using WW metal. I shoot these in my contender bull barrel with 14" barrel.

I have been using 22.5grs. of WW296 and chronographed velocities at 1850 fps + with no excessive pressure. ( One large hole at 50yds and between 1-1/2" and 2" groups at 100 yds. I also use the LBT Blue Lube with these bullets along with gas checks.

I would suggest dropping down to around 20grs for starters and work up slowly. I worked on this load for about a year until I was satisfied.

1350 should be fairly easy to get with a 300. I'm shooting a SWC 313 grain with 21.5 grains of 296 and am getting 1430 from my 10.5" Ruger. From my 7.5" Ruger hunter, I was shooting 320 gas checked LFN bullets from Cast Performance with 22 grains of 296 for around 1340. That's about as hot as I wanted to go. Shot like I wanted and was not showing signs of pressure in MY gun. I would start out around 21 with 296 and work up slowly. Either stop when you reach your 1350 mark or until you see signs of pressure, whichever comes first. The extra little bit of velocity that you may gain aren't really worth the wear and tear on the revolver IMO.

I used to use CCI Large Pistol Magnums. Dont remember the number, Maybe CCI350? For the loads that I mentioned, I use Winchester Large Pistol (WLP). They give me the power I want without any excessive pressure. Either one will do you fine. GS

I use a 300 grain WFN with gascheck, cast of WW metal it runs about 310 grains, water drop the bullets out of the mould and lube with LBT Blue, 21.5 grains of H110 gives me 1425 out of my 6.5 inch 629 classic, but that gun runs fast because same load gives me 1375 out of 8 inch Dan Wesson 744. Load is a handful out of the 629 but not too bad in Big Dan. Shoots 4 inch groups at 100 off the bench all day long with 2X scope in 629, 3 inch out of Dan with 4x scope. Dan is way to big to drag to deer woods though.

For less flash and bang, 20 grains H110 goes 1250 in 629 and 1200 in Dan Wesson, shoots pretty much same groups as faster loads.
