Hi!...
I would like to know if there are some treatments to possibly improve lock time of a Mauser '98 action. I feel my mauser has a very slow lock time, especially with its double trigger set ?. If possible i need a how to or technical infos on this because i plan to do it myself. Should i change somethings? How many percent or in miliseconds it will improve the lock time?
Highly appreciate for the helps!

Seb,
check out "speedlock systems firing pins" they claim 40% quicker with there pin and spring, Mauser`s has a locktime approx`s 9 milliseconds, MIDWAY USA carries them.

Getting rid of the set trigger will drastically improve the lock time.. Probably more than a lighter firing pin and stiffer spring.. Personnally I'd leave well enough alone. The speed lock firing pins are usually titanium and most titanium parts come with a warning that they won't last as long as the original steel.. A heavier spring will also increase the cocking effort when opening the bolt. Still if you must the first thing you need to do is get rid of the set triggers...good luck from the gunnut69
