I'd like to get my gal a big loop lever for her circa 1948 Marlin 336RC for a birthday present.
It seems that Wild West Guns is the only source I've found so far. I'd like to know if there is another source that isn't quite so pricy.

Thanks

Those levers Yanqui mentioned are offered by custom gunsmith Dave Clay of DRC Custom Guns. His web site is :

www.drccustomgunsights.com

You can order the DRC Glove Loop Lever directly from them. Brownells also has them listed in their catalog for $125.

Hope this helps.

Matt;

Thanks for the info. I'm left wondering about the Brownells search engine, because it only brought up the WWG product the first time.

At least now I have a choice. Say . . . which big loop lever is more reminiscent of of the "John Wayne" style loop that some Winchesters came with? i.e. Which is bigger?

Correction: Big Loop Lever listed for $115.00.

It would be nice to see a picture of one though. I have my Dad's Sears & Roebuck ol' treinta-treinta that I would like to install a big loop lever. If the big loop lever looks good enough I will. If not, well nope.

Based on the pictures I have seen the DRC Glove Loop Lever appears to be smaller than the WWG Big Loop Lever, which is a little more extreme in appearance. I guess you could say that the WWG is closer in appearance to the Winchester "John Wayne" style lever than the DRC Glove Loop Lever. The one WWG lever that I saw on one of their takedown custom jobs looked a bit bigger than necessary for use with thick gloves.

I plan on getting 2 DRC Glove Loop Levers in the future for my Marlin 336D and my 1895GS.

Hope this helps, :)
