A small museum is trying to get the real story on this cannon. They know the history of it after 1878 but I’d like to get some idea where it was made, and who ordered it. Nom. Length 50”. Bore dia: TBS. I’d like to find another cannon ca. 1800 with similar flat muzzle swell, most other cannons made in that era had muzzle swell with smoothly-rounded outside diameter. It appears to be unmarked. Another distinguishing feature is that it was cast with trunnion axis in the vertical plane, 90 degrees from the usual position in the mold.
