Hey: :) :)

I also posted this under "Gunsmithing" and I got to thinking, one of you may can help me out. I'm in dire need of the big "bushing" which is fine threaded, and the inside is standard die threads for the Lyman AA Turret Press.

This big bushing is needed when you are not reloading Shotshells. The shotshell die screws into this space. When using all 4 stations, 3 standard dies, and a powder measure, the "bushing" is needed.

Anyone who could help me out, I'd sure be one happy camper. I've done the searches, and search about every day on auctions, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Casper_Zip :) :) :) :)

I solved this problem for a fellow by drilling and tapping the offending hole to 11/4-12 and installing a Lee die bushing ($8.00).

Hi Jim:

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have just done a search on Lee site, and can't find the $8 bushing from Lee. Still scratching my head. Can you help me out on this? Don't have a Lee catalog, and in the search, it asks for a part number.

Thanks a bunch,

Bob

Lee Bushing

Well, I found the 1 1/4" die adapter for the 50 BMG, but still in my search, it doesn't or won't list the part I need. I'm still searching and trying to find that rascal.

Thanks again,

Bob

An RCBS Rock Chucker bushing for their single stage press would most likely work. I'm not too sure of the external thread size but perhaps they could scan you a blueprint of the bushing. Either way, you could match the internal threads on the All American to the external threads of the 50 BMG dies. This might be closer to what you need.

Lyman offers the shell holder adapters but that's it.........from their mouth.

Hello again:

I did contact Lyman, and no such parts exist. They have long been out of stock for this old machine. I tried the big bushing on my RCBS Rockchuckers, but, alas, they are "coarse" threaded. They are the right size, but not "fine" threads.

I guess I'll try a machine shop here in the next town, they should be able to fix me up. Guess it's my only option.

Thanks and all the best,

Casper_Zip

Bob, pull up the Lee Classic press and click on "service parts". You a correct that Lyman no longer supplies the bushing.
