:-D :-D :-D Ya better be careful now. I just got my two favorite bpcr molds(only molds I got fer da .45). They be back from Lyman and all repaired with the new heavy/thick sprue plate. Looke like they going to be turning out some projos before the weekend is out. Actually I am going to attempt casting this weekend, now that they are back, and see what the weight differance is going to be after they had been refurbished by the company. I do have to atmit, everytime I screw up something made by Lyman, they fix it and do not charge me anything fer it. I told em that if the molds were shot, just sent me two replacements and the bill and I would be happy to take care of it. Going to cast some ww and pure lead in the 125 and the 132 and see how they shoot next week if im lucky.stay safe....king

:D The way this weekend is shoping up, casting may be a good thing!! A little extra heat!! :) Supose to be zero for the next night or two.
My very first set of moulds and dipper along with the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook showed up today!! I've already got about 50# of wheel weights cleaned and declipped. I think I'm gonna see if I can turn them into something useful without setting the house or myself on fire. I wanna try learning casting on less "important" bullets ie 45 colt cowboy bullets where accuracy is less important. But you just mentioned the two bullets I'm practicing for, so I've got questions for ya 'specialy since you seem to have worn out a set of each. Were talkin' 45-70, 1:18 twist, 32" barrel. Would you recommend one over the other? 457125 or 457134? At the moment, I'm using 405gr storebought I had on hand for a '86. They're fine while I'm practicing, but I've got a chunk of steel a friend is gonna turn into a buffalo as soon as his shop warms enough to spend a little time with his plasma cutter. I'm gonna set it midway up the second hill over from the back door. It'll be between 11 and 12 hundred yards so I want something heavier. Maybe some day I'll try both, but I gotta start somewhere.

:D BF45. Well, when and if the stars are in the proper alignment, and there is not anyone asking me..question at the shooting bench I do have a target with that cast bullet that shot into just under 1.5 at 100 meters. Now,to do that a couple times in a rowe is a problem fer me. That rn has caused me to shave my head slick and smooth so I dont pull my hair out inna warm months. I will make it work all of the time, one of these days. My load is in a RP case, with a Fed 215 to set things off. Pwder is 65/or 70 of 3ff Elephant. Over powder wad, with a oal of 2.95. I have a target in front of me that shows 4 rounds from edge to edge of less than a half inch. The two sets of two rounds touching, and two rounds about 3 inches apart. I shoot 10 rounds in a groupe. My chrony on that load is 1145/1175 fps. Now,I cant remember if I wiped after the five rounds were fired or not,but a blow tube, with four long breaths, after each shot is used. The Lyman postell or the 132 is the 1.5 ich group. This was with 65 of 2f goex, over powder wad,oal of 3.02..Chrony of 1175 average..Lube was SPG in all of the loadings. Im shooting a 34 ich bbl,Pedersoli, with a 1:18 twist on these rifles. I really like the postell for accuracy,if I could consistantly get it to shoot ,but it does shoot a little better that the rn . I think the main problem is the shooter, not the rifle. Just a little more load workup, and I should see some improovement. I gotta get with RDNCK and get his opinion on some of the stuff. That man knows a lot. I got about 400 of ww,and about 600 of about 1:50 or 1:60 (never heard of that before) to sast also. I wanna shoot, its fun talking, but,IWANNA SHOOOOOOT. Stay safe...King

  BF45!!!!!. I gots waaaaaay tooo many targets in front of me. Ok. The Lyman Rn(125),with the 70 of 3f Elephant is the one with four rounds touching, and the other six away from that small group. I just cant seem to be consitant with that load and projo, and it needs more development. The 1.5 inch group was shot with the postell projo using the 65 2f goex, oal of 3.02,spg lube,215 primer, with an over powder wad .060. I apologize fer da screw up,way tooomuch info in front of mee. DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..i fergot the chrony on the last load is 1175. still probably got something mixed up,gota be alzheimers er....that blond girl that wants me toooo get offa the compu.......
