Has anyone used the Accuracy Systems adjustable gas block for the Mini 14? What have your results been?

Has anyone had their Mini 14 rebarrelled by Accuracy Systems and how does the rifle perform?

Shotgun News recently carried one of their adds for their gas block system and I wonder if it improves accuracy and handling as well as the operating handle rear thrust.

Is this a worthwhile expenditure for $100???? Thanks.

You should go to Perfect Union forum. I went there and they really helped me.
I can tell you that before you spend lots on Accuracy Systems get the muzzle brake and then buy the tri rail.
They spell it out for you on the forum
It cost me $30 and took my mini 14 from a 4-5 moa to a 1moa. I am not exaggerating and I would not lie to you.
check it out.

prairiedog555: thanks for the insights. I went to the site you recommended and read what they had to say about the Tri-Rails helping to stabalize the barrel on the minis, and ordered one for my mini-14 and one for my longer barrelled Kalashnikov. Thanks again.

I had my old Mini rebarreled years ago by Accuracy Rifle Systems. With typical mil ball, it shoots into something like 1.5". With my handloads using 748 and Sierra bullets, it is closer to 1". I also had the original ugly stock fixed up, but I have recently replaced it with a Hogue stock. The new, heavy barrel displays none of the problems with barrel heating of the original. I have recently started playing with smaller gas bushings. I got a bunch of sizes and finally settled on replacing the original .088" bushing with a .042" one. The gun still shoots well; brass isn't sent into orbit and it reduces the banging of the op rod on the receiver. So far, I haven't found any ammo so weak that it won't function with the reduced gas flow bushing.
