Anyone have an idea what a Model 11 Sportsman 16ga is worth. The serial number is higher than the largest number listed on the Remington sight. So I think it was one of the last ones produced in 1947. It is in working order and appearance is good with some wear spots in the blueing. The bore is bright.
I inherited this gun and have no idea of its worth. Any help would be appreciated.

Called Remington today and found out it was produced in 1948...one of the last 1000 Model 11, 16ga made. Doesn't make it worth more, but kind of kool to know the facts about it.

Thanks for all the help

You should hang on to it. I hear Remington is now making the 870 in .16 ga. so the old .16 is not so dead after all. I found a model 11 for under $200, but some idiot shot it with high base shells and didnt bother to change the inertia ring set-up and the back of the reciever was visible cracked. I'm sure it could be fixed but for how much $$?? Check the Browning site for the Auto-Five S/G that has the same recoil operation to adjust for low/high base shells.
