My first deer was a spike, very much like that. After nearly 20 years it remains the TROPHY of my life and I can recount the bold colors of Fall that associated that event along with the wasps, the tree stand "anomalies" through which I persevered, and the exhilaration after pulling the trigger. Like his first love, this is one event that will NEVER fade. Congratulations.

Congrats - it's a trophy for sure! There'll be some nice tender steaks in that one.

That first deer is a memory you never forget. Can still recall every detail of the morning I shot my first one.

Congrats to both of you! Wonderful story. My ]7ar old and I Shot a smallish buck on Sunday. I would not have shot him if he didnt say "Dad, who cares how many points it has, it is so good to eat"...From the mouths of babes.

**** Yes! It is just like that! I can relate. I have the case from the first round I ever shot (as an adult) at my own property from my own gun (a 30-30 Winchester) that has a piece of paper stuck down its throat with the original date and time inscribed. I refer to it infrequently and get that same old thrill when I remember.
