I never voted straight ticket. I have voted for the person who I thought would be best. how do the democrats hope to win with them holding up money to help the unemployed? she wants it to go to her own states. there is something very wrong with her. I am hoping for the "very best for all of us". just don't matter to me who you vote for. regards, richard

That woman has become disilusioned and has created mental blocks as to what her role is . Ego and her self serving has polluted her ethics.
The ultimate good for this country is on hold for the promise of votes. This woman , Pelosi , is on the road to Evil. In all her communication and decisions , she is the most partisan, & biased detractor of the continued growth of of country, Middle ...working class stability, and she continues to downward spiral.

Clearly, conservatives are not the only thinkers, as we are wont to pontificate and believe. Liberals, like the single celled plants they are, rudimentarily "think" too - in dark, hollow, empty places without oxygen as are the cess pools of their minds. How else would they be so inspired to throw away the very best government on this planet for Socialism, anarchy, and the Bolshevik Gulag?

I really hope all those who have decided to shut up rather than be harrassed by the democrats cohorts, Antifa and BLM, will vote their minds on election day. The dems have laid a plan out that backfired. They sought to intimidate all who oppose them, but were too shortsighted to see that all which happened was the opposition is just being quiet untill it's time.

The scariest part of all this is the brainwashing of our children by educating them just enough to believe what they are taught, but not enough to question the right or wrong of the teachings! It's been also called the "handicap of a college education. It teaches the agenda of the democrat/socialist party, at the expense of common sense"........Just incase anyone was wondering why the college kids dropped into the fetal postion and many needed counselling when Hillary lost.

Back a few decades I began ONLY voting Straight party. Why vote for a president and then vote for a Congressman or senator that might oppose everything that he does. Why vote for Trump and vote for a Congressman that might vote for Pelosi as Speaker of the House. If you believe in a conservative philosophy, vote for the party that will support your belief. There may be a few good people in the opposition party that might even be worthy of remaining in office; however, they must looked at as a casualty of the war we are in to take back our country.

In the beginning I too voted for the "best person", regardless of party. But I have adopted this new philosophy since voting in the 1994 midterm election - remember the Contract with America - that elected Newt Gingrich as Speaker. It's not a flawless system, but I will not dilute my presidential vote by offering support to someone only because they are an incumbent of the opposition party who hasn't rocked the boat too much.

I also gave up supporting ANY political party. I support only individual conservative candidates. I remember too well how poorly the Repubs treated candidate Trump 4 years ago. He ran against Hillary, the DNC, the national news media, about half of the elected republicans, and received only modest support from the RNC. Yet he won because he had the support of the citizens of this great republic. Reminder: we really haven't had a Truly conservative candidate since Reagan - until Trump. Then recall how during his first two years - when Paul Ryan was Speaker and when we held the Senate - little was accomplished; because Paul Ryan and the "party" failed to actively support Trump and gave him lip service while opposing him behind the scenes. Vote for a philosophy, financially support solid conservative candidates - maybe this way we can purge the RINO's from the party.

Please consider the ages of those opposing our POTUS as we speak. This will demonstrate to you that our system of educating our youth has been grossly abused in a subtle way for a long period of time. It, in the fashion I wrote of in my last text, is the reason Biden can claim he WILL raise taxes in one tv add, while denying that same thing in the next, while condemming Trump for trying to eliminate the Affordable Care Fiasco which doubled and in some cases trippled drug and healthcare costs, then promising to EXPAND the program that couldn't be made to work the first time around, all the while not recieving even one question about the obvious inconsistansies from his college aged fan base.......We need ALL REPUBLICAN in the Whitehouse, House Of Representatives, and Senate. The Republicans may not be perfect, but they aren't trying to eliminate the Constitution, or change our form of government to a system proven of failure, socialism/communism.....

The ACA, Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare had three simple and clear goals. To provide healthcare insurance to all citizens, to reduce the rate of increase in healthcare costs, and to immediately cut healthcare costs. IT FAILED to meet any of its objectives, and generally brought about negative progress against the goals. Yet only in Washington can it be heralded as a success. It needs to be kicked to the curb and something new put in its place; whatever we get can't be worse that what we were given before. And the willfully ignorant say we can't do that because Trump will sacrifice those with pre-existing conditions: BS. They will be protected, he states it in every campaign speech.

And I agree with your assessment of the education system. It is horrific. If you doubt it look up some old "man on the street" videos by Jay Leno asking people simple questions like What do we celebrate on July 4? Who won the civil war? Who did we fight in the revolutionary war? And many of those asked were college students on college campuses. Pitiful display of ignorance. But that doesn't explain the willful ignorance by the likes of Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, Nadler... All I can say about them is that yesterday's flower children are today's blooming idiots. Jesse Watters also has some really disturbing video that also reveals the true state of our college students today. Mandatory history and civics lessons are a must; the best professor I ever had in a government class happened to be an ex-Brit who naturalized as an American citizen who truly understood and appreciated our constitution.

If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything.

It's great to see a politician demonstrate concern about keeping his promises.

Trump is a New York businessman. He can and has worked with and thrived in the toughest environments in our country and the world. Yet he suceeded. He didn't do it by playing kissy face with them. He is tough. And, unlike our politicians, he only got paid if he actually got results and completed a project. Our politicians get paid for talking about problems. Why do you think we see the same issues brought up every four years at election time? Both sides are reluctant to actually fix the problems they have become so adept at running on... they only tinker around the edges. Trumps challenges them by actually coming in and wanting to take these issues off of the table by fixing the problems - this challenges both parties to their core. E.g., Immigration: build a wall. Presidents talked about moving our embassy in Israel to Jerusalem for the past 30+ years; it took a man of action to actually get it done. Mideast peace, North Korea, USMCA, China... he is not afraid to try new outside the box approaches in an effort to get results; and people are amazed when things actually happen. This is the difference between electing a do-er and a talker.

I would like to tackle the MYTH of a college education and poke a few holes in some of your criticism:

1.) If you EXPECT a building to stand firm during a hurricane or earthquake, then you appreciate that fundamental of structures is taught in the Colleges of Civil Engineering in These United States.

2.) If you EXPECT a storm water diversion system to retain water, channel it, direct it elsewhere, rather than flood it though your house (Mother Nature's wrath not withstanding), then you appreciate the fundamentals taught in the Colleges of Civil Engineering in These United States.

3.) If you EXPECT to go from City to City, State to State, on vacation, or just driving to work everyday, on passible roads and in safe cars that swiftly convey the masses, rather than sitting behind the "south end of a north bound grain processor" over hard scrabble, pot marked, bad weather precluding thoroughfares, then you appreciate the fundamentals taught in Colleges of Civil and Mechanical Engineering in These United States.

4.) If you EXPECT light when it is dark and safety from electrocution when turning it on, then you appreciate the fundamentals of electrical production, transmission, and delivery taught in the Colleges of Electrical Engineering in These United States.

The point being, MATH and SCIENCE are enhanced and the general public health and welfare promoted through kids in college learning the fundamentals of PHYSICS, STRUCTURES, MACHINES, GEOMETRY, TRIGONOMETRY, et al, and the analytical skills which are fundamental to the natural world.

I have not even gotten to the pursuits of Medicine, Accounting, Law (forgive me for that one), Do not paint ALL college education with the broad brush strokes of "College Bad" or "all Professors are Liberal Indoctrinators".

You MAY, with my wholehearted permission, CONDEMN much of the LIBERAL ARTS as college degrees. Particularly those degrees equating to the "Study of [fill in the blank]".

I'm not writing to indict the entire education system... but an awful lot of it. My son graduated with a triple major in earning his bachelor degree. Then he followed it up with an MBA. After her time at the local junior college, my daughter graduated from a Big Ten school and went on to receive a medical degree and now carries the initials DO, OB-GYN after her name. So I'm not against education... some students are able to graduate and provide a positive benefit to society. I can remember speaking with my daughter as an undergrad; she explained to me that the only way she learned anything from that big university was by [a] teaching to herself, or pure accident; her time at our local junior college was FAR more academically beneficial to her learning, but less so to her ability to gain future acceptance into the med school attached to the Big Ten university. I recognize and value a good education; my kids have benefitted from this.

But we are failing too many students today. We have allowed ourselves to be told that if we just throw more money at the problem that education will get better. We have deluded ourselves for decades. We have schools that don't even have 3% of students pass proficiency tests in math, Language, or science. We have schools feel pride for having a pro athlete come from their district [who required an entire year of remedial study before he could become academically eligible to play in college], and demonstrate no ability to address the fact that most students they graduate can't even read their name on their diploma. Yet we are spending $8K to $15K per year per student to realize these dismal results in primary and secondary education. And we have neutered the system to prevent the creation, encouragement and enforcement of high expectations from students in our local school systems. And too many parents fail to take any interest in their children's education. If a parent expresses high expectations for their child, the child will work to meet them; if no parental expectations are provided the school will find it difficult to create and enforce effective standards of performance.

Colleges used to teach students how to think; gather data, assess facts, analyze facts, form hypotheses, then test their hypotheses for legitimacy in the real world, and resolve conclusions. Today colleges protect the little snowflakes from opinions that do not adhere to the politically correct orthodoxy. We throw centuries of biological certainty away and tell the kids that they can be a male or female by just thinking or wanting to be one without regard to their physical anatomy. Math has now become racist. We have "new" math that creates 15 steps to solve a simple 3 step problem. The english language is being distorted and torn away from its moorings because it is now racist to teach what used to be called proper english. Writing skills have devolved into gibberish like LOL. Knowledge of our constitution and governmental operations are taught only to the extent that you need to know what building to protest in front of. What is abysmal is that we are paying an outrageous sum of money to facilitate this destruction of our society.

And this doesn't even address the attempts to remove the religious moorings we, as parents, spent decades instilling in our children. Mis-interpreting the constitution to declare a strict separation of church and state, when the founding document states only that a state religion shall not be formed, assures a right to worship according to our own beliefs, and religious tests to serve in government shall be forbidden. Our constitution can, and did, co-exist with the various religions practiced in our country for over a century before we decided to implement a re-interpretation of its language. And how easy it has become to find loopholes in those simple and direct words "shall not be infringed".

Just as Ronald Reagan was the result of 4 years of Jimmy Carter; Donald Trump is the result of 8 years of Barack Obama. The "normal", "everyday" people of our country have had enough of the political correctness that has infected our society. Rush Limbaugh stated that for years people have called in to his show complaining that conservatives never fought back against the liberal craziness being forced upon our society. Now they call to complain about Trump's tweets. As Rush so adeptly pointed out, this is what it looks like when someone fights back against the liberal, deep state. Did you really think that they would just remain silent as Trump tries to put them in their place? No, they are complaining as loudly as they can: Russiagate investigation, FBI and CIA narratives to falsely implicate an innocent President, a fake impeachment. All the while their co-conspirators in the media refuse to give any proper attention to the legitimate [possibly criminal] issues surrounding the Biden family, the Clinton Foundation, Hillary's e-mails, and the recently discovered documents admitting that Hillary created the entire Trump/Russia conspiracy just to distract from her email problems and met with Obama and Biden to brief them on this strategy.

Biden is the guy who has been inside the system for the past 47 years. He, as a Senator contributed to many of the problems that Trump has fought to fix. With Obama, they stated adamantly that our manufacturing jobs would never come back from overseas, Trump is getting them back. Biden has distorted our economy through over regulation. Now, Biden wants to tell us that he will come to rescue us, riding on his white horse, when reality clearly demonstrates that he had a hand in creating most of the problems he now claims to be able to fix. And if he can fix them now, why didn't he fix them during his prior 47 years in government service. His entire candidacy is a farce.

And when he speaks of dishonesty, we need only recall that we were directly told that "You can keep your doctor. You can keep your healthcare insurance." I have heard him claim to have a great healthcare plan. How come he didn't implement it as part of Obamacare? Was he too ineffective to get anything accomplished? Or is he just lying to us now?

Americans are tired of the current political situation. We have a right to expect less fighting and more cooperation between our elected representatives. But removing Trump from the calculus is not a solution. It will only encourage the continued deterioration of our nation and its guiding principles. It is time that conservatives recognize the we are in a fight for the soul of our nation. And that the political elites that got us into this mess will not be able to fix it. That is why Trump is the solution. We brought him in four years ago as an outsider to deal with the governmental swamp; is it a surprise to anyone that he was attacked by the alligators that he found living in it??

Landowner is right in the fact that many of the things we take for granted today became possible through college educations in many cases. What people are waking up to is the way and manner which those things being taught at nearly all levels of education no longer teach important things like The Constitution and Bill of Rights, simple things like writing in "script", or even using a pencil instead of a calculator for math. Many teachers and professors impress upon our children their own mmorals and ideals, rather than allow family to do this, and what we see in the political arena at this time is largely allowed to continue for the above reasons.

I have read and heard of a parent entering a room while "virtual learning" was in progress only to witness a teacher comparing President Trump to Adolf Hitler in the most negative way possible. That parent complained vigorissly, the teacher was dismissed, and the student in question is now home schooled.

There are other instances where the parent was told he/she should not be in the room while the student was attending "class"........Told to stay out of a room in their own home after catching behavior very similar to the other mention.

Yes, I agree higher education does indeed have an important role in progress, but not when the educators idea of pogress is interferring with the future of America. If they can't stick to an accepted curricullum, get rid of them. Their job is to instruct, not sabotage.

I do not believe the science and engineering programs are pure anymore my friend. They pursue politically motivated research grants that inherently drift away from traditional math and science. My son is using his GI Bill to finish a science degree on the way to med school. He’s not taking a single liberal arts class, and his is a pure science degree. Every class has been filtered through critical race theory, and even his lab and research opportunities have been hindered because he’s a straight white male and the fed dollars funding the programs came with diversity requirements. My daughter and son in law experienced Marxist indoctrination and intersectionality as part of their engineering programs at the USCGA. I don’t think such a thing as you imagine exists in the US any more; at least not publicly funded institutions.

Thanks for the kind welcome to the forum... But I've been here since "06. I read a lot and post only when I believe that I may have something worthwhile to contribute. I have a couple of rules I follow in that regard: 1] Speak only when the silence can be improved upon. 2] Silence is golden. The forum provides a tremendous volume of collective experience and intelligence the I have made use of over the past many years.

I thought sharing my voting philosophy might benefit some of our members. But in the heat of the election cycle I also posted [maybe a bit too much] opinion. I'm reminded of a story by Reagan when I find myself on a soapbox...

A farmer watched as a shiny car pulled up onto his driveway. He greeted the occupant who introduced himself as a Republican politician. He told the fellow, wait until I get my wife; we've never seen a Republican around here before. As he waited for the man and his spouse to get back, he looked around for a place from which he could deliver his "stump" speech; but all he could find was a pile of the stuff Bess Truman spent decades trying to teach Harry was cow manure. The farm couple arrived and the politician excitedly gave his speech from his makeshift perch. When he concluded the farmer and his wife commented upon his ability to give such a wonderful speech. Well, the politician, not missing a beat, thanked them for their kind words and told them that was the first time he had ever given a Republican speech from a Democratic platform.

I can only hope that my experiences and comment may help others as they consider the exercise of their voting franchise in just a couple of weeks.
