[Shorty]

Had a nuthatch build a nest in the hanging, potted plant on my front porch this spring. Cool! :grin:
'Watched as 1, 2, 3, 4 eggs appeared. Cool! :grin:
"Watched as 1, 2, 3 chicks appeared, their mouths wide open. Cool! :grin:
'Checked nest Saturday after hearing bluejays screeching.
Plant and nest torn to pieces, no life, not cool!

It may not have been bluejays, and we have crows making the rounds in our yard, and we have almost NO cat traffic, but still ;

Sad story. We HAD a beautiful Mockingbird in our backyard, and every morning we would sit on the patio and enjoy our coffe and an almost endless variety of songs from that bird. Last week we found Mockingbird feathers below its usual perch and no more songs. We saw a stray cat lurking in the plants below the perch.

" What cat? I did'nt even know you had a cat, we will surely keep an eye out for him. Sorry he's missing. " Sweeeeeet.
