Need help with 870 Barrel Extension

:cry: Have a Rem(I think) 8 shot abrrel extension that has MALE threading on the end that is the same as the MALE threading on the original Mag tube on the gun.......do I need a adapter or something??????can anyone help?????thanks Hal
