Hi all , I have just been given a rifle in .256 Newton calbreand need help with loading /cartrige info to get me started ..The rifle is 50 years old but in new in box condition , just begging to be used ..Rob
Kiwi Bob, Check out Wolfe publishing, Rifle and Handloader. I cant pinpoint the exact issue#, but there were back issues, say within the last 5 years with both rifle and cartridge articles. Also, Ken Waters did a write up in his "Pet Loads" articles. One other thing, I know these rifles were meant to be shot, and some features were way ahead of there time, I'd check on the value( assuming its a Newtom Rifle). You might, or already do, have something special here. Good Shootin'
Hi ,Thanks for the tips However I live in New Zealand and Wolf publications have never appeared here ..I agree the rifle was made to be shot , but it probably only has the action value , the action is a B.S.A Monarch made late 40's early 50's . I have nade 20 cases yet to be fireformed I intend to use 53 grs of imr 4350 behind 120 gr projectiles for this... Thaks anyway ..Rob
