Go to the Hodgdon site and get some data for Li'l'Gun. It's the best for velocity. Somthing else might give you better accuracy. You'll just have to test. There's plenty of on-line data.
Feb '99 Handloader has an article on the K-Hornet in a contender carbine. I don't have my data with me but most of my data is using Win 680. I would look at regular Hornet data for W680(if you have any), AA1680, IMR4227, VV N110, and Little Gun.
I have had good results in my Contender, factory barrel rechambered to K-Hornet, with 13.8 gr Lil Gun, Hornady 40 gr VMax, WSR primers in Remington brass. V = 3050 fps and groups under 1 MOA. Start about 13.0 gr and work up.
try 35gr v-maxes and win. 296 12grains.very fast and my contender carbine will shoot into half inch at 100 yds. i have more data and pix of my contender. [email protected]
