I’ve got an ever growing pile of wood stocks of various types. As fast as I can find lightweight synthetic stocks I scrap the wood.

Just curious.....why do you choose synthetic over wood?

Is the preference for wood strictly the weight factor? If so, what is a typical weight difference?
