THE ULTIMATE HUNTING RIFLE

I have this friend Jim W. (We call him Cricket) And sometimes I call him Dingbat ;) Well! Cricket likes to play with his Wildcat guns, and this time he has gone too far ;D

Below is an email he sent me yesterday.........Poor old boy! (There is no hope for him)

I just got my new rifle from my gunsmith. It is a 22x400 Rigby super short mag. I picked up the action from a retired elephant hunter and had PacNor from Brookings make the barrel. It is a full bull barrel 92 inches long with a one in twenty seven twist polygon cut. It uses a 32 grain 22 caliber ballistic tip bullet and 312 grains of Nitro Express ball powder, and the Primers are cut down blasting caps. We are having a bit of technical problems seating the primers at this time but nothing with a little experimentation that we cannot overcome. So far the gunsmith has only lost one finger and part of a thumb (on the right hand) but his left is still in perfect condition. We took it out to the range yesterday and it chonographed at 7069 feet per second with the muzzle energy of 5900 ft. pounds.
I am sure that it will make a 4000 yard shot with ease. Well I had better shut this down as I just saw the ambulance go zipping past. Looked like he was heading for Millers Gun Shop and I had better check. Good gunsmiths are hard to find anymore.

ANYWAY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOURS.........

CRICKET........
