Ok so I just got my .357 home and I am going to buy one more. I have a Sporster .22lr and .357mag Handi. They have the following available:
223 in a few configurations, 22-250 stainless bull barrel, and 25-06 with thumbhole stock. The 06 has a 26' barrel. I have a 308 and 243 in CVA guns. I am leaning toward the 25-06 as my clear cut and beanfield rifle. Let me know what you think and why.

Hard to go wrong with a 25-06 one of mine (26"barrel) shoots extremely well with 117 gr Federal factory rounds, matter of fact they are better than any reload I have tried in it . Now my other one (20" barrel)shoots 1/2 to 5/8 groups with reloads .
Good Luck

What George said, I've never bothered working up a load for my 25-06 and have only shot factory ammo thru mine, 120gr Rems, 115gr Federal NP and the 117gr Hornady BTSP all shoot into about an 1" or less at 100yds. Target is for zeroing before the last time I hunted with it, scope adjustments after shot 1 and 2 from 131yds, out of the box 25-06 Ultra, only modification is an O-ring on the forend stud. The 26" barrel is a tad heavy, particularly the muzzle end, for my taste as a carry rifle.

You should buy whichever one you like. Then go back and keep negotiating on the remaining rifles until they are gone. Take your time and see if you can get a better deal. I just picked up a new in box 22-250 with wood stocks for $199 after negotiating for a few months.

I would defineately go for the long barrel '06!!! Chop it and send the pruning to Larry to make you a couple 32/20 or George for a 300BO and have TWO!! ::) ;D ::) sell a few and pay for the whole shooting match!! ::)

CW,

I've heard of a "pipe dream" before but never one about an actual pipe! (barrel)

Most he could get would be 10" and you got him making 2 more guns!
