Gave my gunsmith the go ahead today.
I'll be ordering my first handi in a SS .243, Mainly getting it so I can also put a ML on it later for 08', but I can use the .243 for varmints now.

What scope should I put on it? I'm thinking of the Nikon 3-9 to keep it under $200. Or maybe a Mueller....

If you mean predators (coyotes and bobcats) instead of varmints (prarie dogs and ground squirrels) the Nikon ProStaff 3x-9x is a great scope on a handi. A coyote on the charge into a call is hard to get in the low end of a high powered varmint scope.

I got tired of variables and went to a straight 6x on my .270.

Crap. The gun is "out of stock" now. Anyone know where to get a stainless .243?
The gun source had them for $256.26 until they ran out yesterday. How long before a "back-ordered" gun comes in again?

HELP.

Found it. Phew!

Back to optics. I think I'll go with the Extreme.
Any big opinions about the lighted recticles?
