She can't tell Chris Matthews the difference between a Democrat and a socialist...but she shouldn't feel too bad, I doubt anybody else can either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHpiMv3Sy8Q

Today's Democrat party is not the Democrat party of JFK & HST. Schultz kept trying to compare Democrats to Republicans, but being Democrat (socialist) she should have addressed the difference between a socialist and a communist. This fellow did it quite aptly in just 31 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xp7zs9X7iI

Democratics=socialists=communists. It's all the same bag of liberalism crap; it works for awhile for those who are on the receiving end of the of the programs, but that can only last for a limited time. The time limit in this country is fast approaching.

Debbie needs to hang it up and go hang out in a Biker bar. And she can take Marie Harf with her, I'm sure they
will be more than accommodating.
At 3 AM, after ten beers and with the lights down low they might look okay to some guys. I don't think I've ever been that drunk, I'd pass out first.

Nor I, but they would be ok if they weren't such Obots with an attitude. They do need to chill out though.

Wasserman and Matthews both need an education,

Sanders is neither.

Per John Ahlquist, Associate professor - School of Global Policy and Strategy , University of California
Sanders is a democratic socialist. ie:(social democracy) the idea that “the elected government has a responsibility to ensure that the functioning of a market economy adequately provides for basic needs for everybody."

Where as Traditional socialism, on the other hand, is a political-economic system that organizes the economy purely around the needs of the people.

In Sanders own words,

What it means is that one takes a hard look at countries around the world who have successful records in fighting and implementing programs for the middle class and working families. When you do that, you automatically go to countries like Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and other countries that have had labor governments or social democratic governments, and what you find is that in virtually all of those countries, health care is a right of all people and their systems are far more cost-effective than ours, college education is virtually free in all of those countries, people retire with better benefits, wages that people receive are often higher, distribution of wealth and income is much fairer, their public education systems are generally stronger than ours. Social democracies don’t eradicate capitalism, but put in place a strong regulatory system alongside it to ensures a minimum standard of living for all citizens.
This should probably be moved to Politics thread.

Peace ,

Scoot,

This is not Denmark, Sweden, etc., etc. and it is never going to be. Wealth is not distributed--it is earned, or in some cases inherited, or won. It is not the function of government to involve itself with distributing anything--or it should not be. In a large and diverse country like the United States it will always devolve into economic failure and sharing of the misery and not the wealth.

The best way to assure that the economy will fail is to reward those who won't get off their butts. Give them food credit cards, free phones, etc.--yeah, that'll get them to looking for a job. Allowing immigration either legal, or illegal when we already have massive unemployment is ridiculous and everyone knows that the only reason for it is to revitalize the Dumycrat voting rolls. Then top it off with unsupportable minimum wage rules that will cause even more unemployment and small business failures.

I wonder what the immigration policy of these "democratic social" countries is. I wonder if they would be open for an influx of 30 to 50 million unskilled new occupants.

You ma automatically go were you think is right but there are some very real social differences in those countries and ours. Those are small countries with a strong sense of personal pride and a high work ethic. In such a country low end workers can be helped to live better. Socialism is not magic, we too would have a much higher standard of living if a higher percentage of our people had an equal pride and work ethic.

America is vastly more varied in ethnic make up and that matters. How can white and yellow workers provide enough freebies to satisfy those who are quite happy to contribute nothing to society and yet want others to provide an "equitable' standard of living for them without effort on their part? And I can assure you that those workers now on the margins would stop working if they could do just as well without work.

If you think I'm being racist so be it, but I call it realism rather than a liberal's standard dreamy idealism. The work ethic of individuals vary but I defy you to point to a successful socialist democracy with a major black or brown population. And it wouldn't work here either...

Whites and Yellow kids are having a very hard time even finding entry level jobs. The illegals have a strangle hold on about any job out there good or bad. Gone is the excuse about the jobs Americans don't want to do.
Some of these kids would gladly take those jobs if they could get them. The trouble started when they hired
these people who refuse to learn English, then they have nothing but those who only speak Spanish.
So they have to hire more who speak Spanish and put those who are bilingual as managers.
But even if a white is bilingual it still won't matter, the illegals force out anyone who isn't one of them.
They try to make the white boy look bad, and blame him for anything that goes wrong his fault or not.
Or hide his time card, or his reports like he never turned them in, steal his tools, lie about him, take the credit for anything good he dose like he isn't doing anything, we see this all the time. I've experienced it myself when I replaced another white tech with a machinery company based in El Paso. And the other tech warned me that this would happen to me just like it did to him. And he was right.

Unless and until American educators and politicians quit being PC deaf, dumb and blind to the root causes of poverty it will never get any better.

People are usually poor because they won't work. LBJ's 1968 BLUE RIBBON COMMITTEE ON POVERTY concluded the reason the poor were poor was because they didn't have any money. The "WAR ON POVERTY" solution was - seriously - to willy-nelly pour a lot of tax money into poor city areas and the normal churn of money in a locality would make jobs appear and poverty would go away; pure 'liberal' nonsense Fact is, after trillions were tossed at the "problem", there has been no effective reduction in the percentage of poverty in poor areas. Indeed, many places are worse than before so much money was given away. More money and more gobbermint agencies are not the solution, we've already proven that we can't give those who don't work enough money to entice them to go to work!

Yep, we've dumbed down our education system because of a certain ethnic group, and it will never recover.
the war on poverty is a war on the middle class working man. we need to have a middle class working man mounted and put in a museum of antiques.

(This was before LBJ and McNamara had screwed up Viet Nam beyond recovery.)

I remember the wife and I watched live TV the night LBJ announced his phony "War on Poverty". I turned to wife and said "This will be the first war the US has ever lost." I was right, but gobbermint still hasn't recognized it, that wouldn't be PC, so they continue to pour tax money into a bucket with no bottom. The mindset of LBJ lives today in people like the lovely and vivacious Ms. Schultz, BObama, Kerry, Schumer, Pelosi, Klinton(s), Biden, Reid, McCain, McConnell, Boehner, etc.

Pray for congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC); he and some friends are doing all they can to kick the hidden props out from under the current corrupt power structure in DC.
