Hey guys, I lurk here only periodically so pardon me it this is an old topic. I recently bought a 16 1/4" 50 cal Contender muzzleloader barrel from Dave Van Horn. W/ initial (and very limited) load development, I shot the same Pyrodex RS I had previously shot in my T/C New Englander rifle. I realize there are a multitude of different powders available these days and everyone has an opinion as to what's best. I'm open to your suggestions, but my MAIN question is whether I should continue using an FFg equivalent powder or should instead use an FFFg equivalent powder? :? I hope to shoot 240 gr bullets w/ sabots. Gary T.
